Getting there
The cape and the seawatching point at the Observatory are easily reached by car and a very short walk away.
All you have to do is to take the road from O Barqueiro (A Coruna) to Vila de Bares. Once you have passed this little village and its white church, take the road to the lighthouse instead of continuing on to Puerto de Bares. Very close to the light house, don’t stop and continue to your right until you reach a curve with tiny reed field on the right. Leave the car there and walk towards the cliffs trough the short path. Two hundred meters ahead you will find the Observatory.
The tiny Bird Observatory is a stone building owned by Xunta de Galicia, Galicia’s Regional Administration. It has four beds and clean water. If it doesn’t rain birders prefer to stay outside. Even in gale force winds!
