Observers: Antonio Sandoval Rey, Ricardo Hevia, Alfonso Valderas, Óscar Llama, Antonio Martínez Pernas, Amaya Alzuaga, Oliver Metcalf. Very poor passage during these days due to the NE winds. Some interesting numbers and species were:
AUG 19: 1 Long Tailed Skua, 12 Arctic and 1 Pomarine, 28 Manxies, 4 Sooties. AUG 20: Nothing to mention... Grrr. AUG 21: 1 young Whitethroat and 1 Collared Dove (only one previous sighting of this common species in the headland). 4 Arctic Skuas. Observers: Antonio Sandoval Rey, Ricardo Hevia, Francisco Javier Palacios, Alfonso Valderas, Óscar Llama, Pablo Pita, Pablo Gutiérrez, Antonio Gutiérrez, Antonio Martínez Pernas, Amaya Alzuaga, Isabel García Rodejas. it was quite a surprise to watch a juv. Long Tailed Skua during the morning count, as the day was very poor in terms of seabird passage due to the NE winds. Only 10 Gannets and Cory's / hour, and very few of the other typical species. As all the previous days, several C. Dolphins.
Observer: Antonio Sandoval During the morning a Lesser Kestrel in company of 3 other unidentified Kestrels (mos surely also Lesser; there is an influx in the mountains a few km south) was found at «La Garita de Bares», the hights close to the headland. Some hours later, the first Pied Flycatcher of the autumn was found in the sane place. Meanwhile, at sea the passage was quite boring, with only a few birds of the usual species in this time of the year. A male Peregrine tried to catch a Little Tern, but he found out it was not easy in a strong NE wind.
